John D. Reynolds, D.Min.

Dr. Reynolds joined the faculty of Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS) in 2013 and now serves as assistant professor of Pastoral Ministry and Missions and director of Vicarage.

Dr. Reynolds graduated from CTS in 1998 after a career in the United States Air Force (U.S.A.F). Joining the U.S.A.F. after high school, he flew C-130 transport aircraft as a loadmaster. After finishing his undergraduate degree he re-entered the U.S.A.F. and flew B-52 bombers as a navigator. His last assignment before attending CTS was as the Operations Planner/Single Integrated Operational Plan advisor to the commander of Strategic Air Command and later United States Strategic Command where he carried the “Nuclear Football.”

A parish pastor for 15 years, he last served as pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Randolph, N.J., and four years as Circuit Counselor of Circuit Four of the New Jersey District.

Dr. Reynolds interests are in pastoral care and counseling. His D.Min thesis was a response to the Lord’s command in John 13:35 and is titled “How Then Are We to Love One Another?”

Dr. Reynolds and his wife Valerie are parents of two grown children. Brian is a partially disabled veteran and Amanda (Kevin Futo) is a public school guidance counselor.
